Accept USDT payments on Optimism

GramPayBot supports canonical bridged USDT on OP Mainnet, also called Optimism. The customer sends the supported ERC-20 token to the merchant’s configured EVM address, while GramPayBot monitors the transfer without taking custody.

Which wallet address should the merchant add?

Add a public 0x... address you control and have tested on OP Mainnet. An EVM wallet can display the same account address on Ethereum, Base or Arbitrum, but each network maintains separate balances and token contracts.

Use the EVM wallet address guide to verify all 42 characters, account control and exchange deposit support. Never paste a private key or seed phrase.

Verify the OP Mainnet USDT contract

The supported contract is 0x94b008aD8e5B9742116e2F419C7830d15B23F2aD with six decimals. It represents USDT bridged canonically from Ethereum through the Optimism standard bridge; it is not the issuer-native Ethereum contract 0xdAC17... and must not be replaced with a token that merely uses the USDT symbol.

The maintained Superchain Token List is used by Optimism services including the bridge UI. Open the exact contract in Optimistic Etherscan, compare every character and apply the token verification checklist.

What the buyer must select

The buyer must choose Optimism or OP Mainnet for the USDT withdrawal. Ethereum/ERC20, Base, Arbitrum, BNB Chain and other networks are separate routes. An exchange may show “ERC20” as the token standard, but the network label still has to be Optimism.

A self-custody sender needs ETH held on OP Mainnet for gas. ETH held only on Ethereum mainnet cannot pay the L2 fee until it is moved to OP Mainnet. Fees vary, and an exchange may charge a separate withdrawal fee.

How GramPayBot confirms the payment

The product route is network enum optimism plus token USDT. GramPayBot checks the OP Mainnet transfer’s exact token contract, configured recipient and invoice amount. ETH, another ERC-20 token or USDT on another network does not qualify.

Open the transaction hash in Optimistic Etherscan and verify successful status, chain, token contract, recipient and amount. A bridge transaction still pending on the source chain or an exchange withdrawal request is not proof of a completed merchant transfer.

Wrong network, bridge delay and late payment

A matching 0x... address does not guarantee automatic recovery from the wrong EVM network. If the buyer first bridges funds, wait until the correct asset is available on OP Mainnet before paying the invoice. Underpayments and payments after expiry require separate review.
